Vietnam Era Veteran (Feb 1975 - Oct 1975); Honorable Discharged
Life Member DAV Chapter 14, Philadelphia, PA
good service; two surgeries (1/3 thyroid gland removed in 2010 ~ VAMC-ATL in
2010 and gall bladder removal in 2013 ~ VAMC-DUB) and awful service; HepC
exposure (exposed in 2010, treated Jan 2017, cured Apr 2017) and one stomach polyp
removal (caused total stomach infection), the latter two medical assaults were at
VAMC-ATL.
I left primary care at VAMC-ATL and enrolled at VAMC-DUB aka Carl Vinson Medical Center, where I received professional healthcare; however, I do not like the Domiciliary Program.
It was in the Domiciliary Program, where my gall bladder issue was discovered (good) and was days away from getting much needed dental work. My teeth deteriorated from many years of purging (throwing up) since 1999. That may have been from gall bladder that was not medically diagnosed until being active in Carl Vinson Medical Center. I was terminated from the Domiciliary Program, shortly after gall bladder sonogram was ordered. I kept making scheduled appointments, after termination and did gain relief from purging after successful removal of gall bladder, in 2013.
I have been on my own for decaying teeth; so, I now need help in raising funds for
that.
Veterans Healthcare does not include dental work in general; this is reserved for
Veterans with combat head injury or Veterans enrolled in programs, i.e., Domiciliary ...
and I do not want any "Go Fund Me" campaigns ...
Since July 1975, I have been receiving disability compensation for a training accident, less than 50%. The rating is for limited motion in lower lumbar; however, the low back pain is generated from my neck. I always stated that "I almost broke my neck", since the 1st evaluation back in 1975 even though I did not have neck pain ... just real chronic low-back pain and did complain of occasional headaches ... they were neck aches.
No medical evaluations for upper spinal area happened until my short participation in VAMC-DUB Domiciliary Program (May - OCT 2012). While in the dom program, I complained about pills and food not going down after swallowing ... well, a throat study discovered a spur in my neck ...
That's right visitor, I have a head injury ... since my late teen years, I have been
doing what I could do with an injury to the upper spine that happened in October 1975.
In the mid70s male doctors were rough in treating female Veterans, we generally rather
pray our health issues away than present ourselves to a male doctor.
Any who, I am asking for help in raising funds for dental work, I have been self-employed
since February 2005; had to stop completely in November 2009, due to the inability to
digest food and purging (even water).
Formerly employed at VAMC-ATL from April 1987 - December 2004 ...
On April 27, 2017 I became an SFI Affiliate to return to earning a living online.
